The "Precipitation and All-weather Temperature and Humidity" mission (PATH) was one of 15 Earth missions that the National Research Council recommended NASA consider in the coming years. PATH would deliver a microwave array spectrometer payload (GeoSTAR) that is a microwave sounder with the same capabilities as those of the Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit. Applications for PATH could include its ability to provide measurements that are crucial for the monitoring and prediction of hurricanes and severe storms.
